VISIT FLORIDA Travel Trade Manager
VISIT FLORIDA shares Florida sunshine with the world. As the state’s official tourism marketing organization, VISIT FLORIDA has been charged with selling an extraordinary vacation product since 1996. As part of our Travel Trade team, we’re looking to fill our Travel Trade Manager role. Our ideal candidate will be a quick learner, able to manage multiple projects, and build and maintain strong relationships with industry partners.
This position has the opportunity to be remote, but must be located in Florida. Preference to be located in our corporate office located in Tallahassee, FL.
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage travel trade programs in assigned markets, including strategy development, budgeting, and execution of events. Oversee the agencies in planning of signature events, trainings, missions, familiarization trips, and tradeshows. Act as a liaison between agency offices and headquarters, reporting on results.
- Manage and provide direction to the Travel Trade team.
- Build and maintain relationships with Florida destination Partners. Provide opportunities to showcase their destination through travel trade efforts.
- Plan all aspects and represent VISIT FLORIDA at assigned trade shows, correlating events, and conferences including Florida Huddle and IPW. Coordinate partner recruitment and participation, booth planning, and travel trade appointment scheduling. Assist in creation of travel trade communication plan, prepare briefing book and brief CEO, and deliver presentations.
- Manage all budgetary elements for assigned projects. Ensure deliverables are clearly outlined, track results, and route invoices for payment. Assist in the ITN process for international contracts to include writing RPF, evaluating proposals, and contracting elements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communications, or related field
- 5+ years professional experience
- Experience with event planning and managing trade shows, conferences, familiarization trips, and other events
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with agencies, industry representatives, Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs) and VISIT FLORIDA Partners. Knowledge of travel trends and ability to showcase Florida destinations.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and agencies. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
- Ability to represent VISIT FLORIDA at various industry meetings, events, trade shows, and conferences
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to identify audience and adjust message accordingly
- Position includes required travel that will require a valid passport

VISIT FLORIDA Research Manager

As part of our Research team, we’re looking to fill our Research Manager role with a team-oriented and quick learner.
This position has the opportunity to be remote, but must be located in Florida. Preference to be located in our corporate office located in Tallahassee, FL.
Core Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, and manage research projects, analyzing data and providing predictive tourism information. Design and manage the implementation of primary data collection projects, including surveys and focus groups.
- Produce quarterly estimates of domestic and international visitors to Florida. Produce weekly, monthly, and annual reports on demographics and travel behaviors of Florida visitors and the performance of Florida’s tourism industry.
- Gather and analyze third party data and present findings to marketing team. Work with Brand team to inform and support creative agency on research and insights needed for VISIT FLORIDA brand campaigns.
- Create and maintain data visualizations on the performance of VISIT FLORIDA marketing campaigns and the status of the tourism industry.
- Track current events and industry trends and report how they may impact the performance of VISIT FLORIDA’s marketing campaigns and the tourism industry.
- Manage and track contracts for research and analyses with outside vendors, ensuring deliverables are met.
- Represent VISIT FLORIDA and its Partners to the tourism industry at various events, speaking to groups on tourism trends, impacts, and forecasts. Participate in and lead industry committees and task forces, working with Partner groups to provide education relating to market research.
- Manage and provide direction to assigned research team members.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, sociology, psychology, marketing, statistics, or a related field
- 3+ years professional experience, 1+ years of supervisory or leadership experience
- Ability to design survey questionnaires & sampling frames and analyze survey results in SPSS
- Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and attention to detail
- Strong orientation toward internal and external customer service. Ability to communicate research findings to non-technical audiences, both orally and in writing
- Effective presentation skills and ability to represent VISIT FLORIDA at various events
- Basic understanding of statistics
- Intermediate skill with Microsoft Excel, including use of formulas
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a research position for a Destination Marketing Organization (DMO)/Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) or for a firm providing research services to DMOs/CVBs
- Experience measuring the effectiveness of marketing
- Experience creating data visualizations in Microsoft PowerBI, Tableau, or similar
- Experience building statistical models to forecast future market conditions or consumer behavior
- Experience managing contracts with outside vendors supplying research services
